Girls need to wear a leotard – no tights or anything on the feet. Boys should wear comfortable clothing, such as sweat pants or shorts and a t-shirt and nothing on the feet. No shorts should be worn with buttons or zippers.

Can my child wear jewelry to class?

Girls may only wear stud earrings. No necklaces, bracelets, rings or any other jewelry may be worn to gymnastics class.

What should my daughter do with her hair?

If your child has long hair, her hair should be tied up neatly in a pony tail.

Does my child need to attend all of his or her classes?

In order to give your child the best chance for success, their attendance is very important. We realize that occasionally children need to attend special social functions or will need time for extra homework.  Do I need to let anyone know if my child is going to miss his or her class?  Please let us know if your child will have consecutive absences, this will help us to know they are still enrolled.

Can our monthly fee be prorated if we miss class or if the month doesn't have four classes?

SoCo does not prorate monthly fees for absences or for months with less than four weeks. Conversely, no additional charges will incur for those months with more than four weeks.

If my child misses class, can we do a makeup class?

Unfortunately, no. Our classes are full at 8 kids and we want to respect the student to coach ratio in all of our classes.

Do I need to enroll each month?

Once we have you enrolled, you stay enrolled until you let us know you are dropping. To avoid being charged, please give us written notice (email is fine) when you intend to drop. * See policies for more information.

What happens if I am late picking up my child?

Please call the gym and let the staff know. If you are 15 minutes late, a $15 fee will be charged to your account. SoCo does not have the staff to watch your child after practice. Your child’s safety is our biggest concern, and your cooperation in picking up your child on time is very important.

What if I need to talk to my coach about my child?

Tell the receptionist that you would like to talk to the Class Director. She will help you with your concerns or questions.  Parents are not allowed on the floor to address coaches per USAG safety regulations.

When is my monthly fee due?

Your monthly fee is due on the first of the month. You have up to the 10th to pay. After the 10th, there is a $10 late fee. If you get more than two months behind on your monthly fees, you may not participate until your fees are paid in full.

May I watch my child’s class?

SoCo allows parents to watch recreational classes from the upstairs parent viewing area. Parents are not allowed on the floor. Parents must understand that if they watch each day it is sometimes hard to see progress that slowly comes over years of practice. * Practice observation of the SoCo competitive teams will be at the discretion of the coach.
